The 9-1 Specifications (From 2015 onwards) are now examined for all GCSE subjects including English and maths.
For Maths the new AQA Specification code is 8300, the new OCR Specification code is J560, the new Edexcel Specification code is 1MA1 and the new WJEC (EDUQAS) Specification codes are 3310 or C300. Check with your son’s/daughter’s school to confirm which board is being followed. The three English boards’ specifications have three papers to be sat and the following dates are the same for each exam board.

June 8th 2020 (am) – Maths GCSE Paper 3 (Higher and Foundation) Calculator allowed – 3rd paper not set for WJEC (EDUQAS)
For English the new AQA Specification code for language is 8700 and Literature is 8702, the new OCR Specification code for language is J531 and Literature is J532, the new Edexcel Specification code for language is 1EN0 and Literature is 1ET0 and the new WJEC (EDUQAS) Specification codes for language are 3700 or C700 and Literature are 3720 or C720. The new specifications have been structured such that 20% of the marks will be allocated to Spelling Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG).
